1. Introduction

Welcome to CatLitter ("the App"), a calm cat litter-box reminder and freshness tracker developed and operated by Believe PR, owned by Armando Jimenez. CatLitter shows you at a glance whether a box needs attention, lets you log a scoop with one tap, and sends a gentle reminder every evening so the box never gets forgotten.

CatLitter is built around a simple idea: your home and your cats are yours. What you keep in the App, cat names, photos, litter-box history, and health notes, stays on your device.

2. Privacy-First Approach

2.1 Our Philosophy

Litter-box upkeep is a private, domestic thing, so CatLitter is built to ask for as little as possible. With CatLitter we:

• ✓ Store all of your cat and litter-box data locally on your device by default
• ✓ Never require a user account, an email address, or a password
• ✓ Keep no server-side copy of your cats, your photos, your history, or your notes
• ✓ Use no advertising networks and no cross-app tracking of any kind
• ✓ Send only anonymous, aggregate usage statistics, never anything that identifies you

2.2 What This Means for You

When you use CatLitter:

• Your cats' names and photos stay on your phone
• Which box was scooped, when it was last fully changed, and your days-fresh streak stay on your phone
• Health notes and vet-visit records stay on your phone
• Your reminder times, theme, and language preferences stay on your phone
• Your reminders are scheduled locally by your device, not by any server we run

Important: Because we never keep a copy of your content, deleting CatLitter permanently removes your cats, photos, history, and notes from your device. We cannot recover them, because we never had them. CatLitter is local-only by design and does not offer cloud backup or export.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Create (Stored On Your Device)

The following data is created by you and stored locally on your device. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else:

• Your cats: The names you give your cats and any photo you choose for each cat
• Litter boxes: The boxes you set up and their current freshness state
• Care history: Your scoop log, your full-change history, and your days-fresh streaks
• Health notes & vet visits: Any free-text health note or last-vet-visit record you jot down for a cat
• Reminders: The daily scoop and full-change reminder times you set
• Preferences: Your theme (Daylight or Quiet Evening), language, and other in-app settings
• Unlock state: Whether you have purchased the one-time premium unlock

3.2 Information Collected Automatically (Leaves the Device)

A small amount of non-personal, anonymous data leaves your device to keep the App healthy and to process a purchase. None of it is linked to your identity, and none of it is used to track you.

• Firebase Analytics: Anonymous, aggregate product-usage events, such as which screens are opened and which features are used. These are scalar values only (counts, on/off flags, choices from a fixed list, and durations). They never include your cats' names, your notes, or your photos, and they are not linked to your identity, not sold or shared, and not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Advertising-identifier collection and ad-personalization signals are disabled, so the App collects no advertising identifier (no IDFA or Google Advertising ID). Analytics is collected in the production App only (see section 6).
• Firebase Crashlytics: Crash reports and performance diagnostics (for example, a crash stack trace and basic device information) so we can fix bugs and keep the App stable. This never includes your cats, notes, or photos.
• Firebase Remote Config: The App fetches non-personal configuration flags (small on/off switches and settings). It sends no user content; the App works fully offline and behaves the same whether or not a fetch has happened.
• Purchase record (RevenueCat + the app store): When you buy the one-time unlock, the store and RevenueCat record the purchase against an anonymous identifier so the App can confirm your unlock and restore it later. This never includes your name, email, or in-app content (see sections 7 and 10).

3.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

CatLitter explicitly does NOT collect or have access to:

• ✗ Your name, email address, phone number, or contacts
• ✗ Your cats' names, photos, health notes, or vet-visit records (these never leave your device)
• ✗ Your litter-box history, scoop log, or streaks (these never leave your device)
• ✗ Your precise location or GPS data
• ✗ Your photo library: CatLitter can receive one photo you pick, but never reads or browses your library
• ✗ Advertising identifiers (IDFA or Google Advertising ID): CatLitter has no advertising
• ✗ Health data from Apple Health, Health Connect, or any other source
• ✗ Any data used for cross-app or cross-site tracking

4. How We Use Your Information

4.1 App Functionality (On-Device)

Your data is used entirely on your device to:

• Show the freshness ring and surface the box that needs attention
• Log your scoops and full changes, and track your days-fresh streak
• Keep your cats, their photos, and their health and vet-visit notes
• Schedule your daily scoop and full-change reminders
• Show today's freshness on the home-screen widget, if you added one
• Apply your selected theme and language

4.2 Keeping the App Healthy

Anonymous, aggregate data helps us:

• Fix crashes and improve stability (Crashlytics)
• Understand which features are used, so we can improve CatLitter (Analytics)

Your cats, photos, and notes are NEVER used for analytics, and are never sold.

4.3 No Marketing, No Profiling, No Ads, No AI

We do not use your information for marketing, profiling, or behavioral advertising, and we do not sell or share it. There is no advertising in CatLitter, and the App contains no artificial-intelligence features.

5. Data Storage & Security

5.1 Local Storage

Your personal data is stored on your device using:

• A local database inside the App's private storage sandbox, for your cats, boxes, history, and notes
• Private on-device photo storage, where each cat photo you pick is copied into the App's own sandbox (your original photo is never uploaded)
• Device key-value storage for preferences (theme, language, reminders, unlock state)
• Operating-system data protection, which encrypts app files at rest on modern iOS and Android devices

5.2 Encryption

• At Rest: Your data is protected by your device's file-system encryption, tied to your device passcode or lock
• In Transit: The limited anonymous data that does leave the device (analytics, crash diagnostics, configuration fetches, and purchase verification) travels over HTTPS (TLS)

5.3 Security Practices

• CatLitter includes no advertising SDKs and no cross-app tracking SDKs
• Analytics and crash diagnostics are anonymous and are not linked to your identity
• The App does not embed third-party web views that load outside content into the experience

5.4 Data Retention

• Your data remains on your device for as long as CatLitter is installed
• You can delete individual cats, boxes, and notes at any time inside the App
• Deleting the App removes all locally stored data permanently
• Anonymous analytics and crash diagnostics are retained by Google (Firebase) under its own retention policies

5.5 No Cloud, No Backup, No Export

CatLitter is local-only by design. There is no cloud account, no server that receives your content, and no built-in backup or export feature. This keeps your data private, and it also means your content lives with your device. If you switch phones or uninstall the App, your CatLitter data does not travel with you.

6. Your Choices & Controls

6.1 Anonymous Usage Data

CatLitter uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregate usage data, such as which screens are used and how often a feature is tapped. These are scalar events only, and they help us improve the App.

• This data is not linked to your identity, and it is never sold, shared, or used for advertising or cross-app tracking
• Advertising-identifier collection and ad-personalization signals are disabled, so the App collects no advertising identifier
• Because the data is anonymous and contains no personal information, there is no in-app opt-out toggle, and none is needed; your cats, your notes, and your photos never leave your device

6.2 Notifications

You can turn the daily scoop reminder and the full-change reminder on or off inside CatLitter, and you can disable notifications entirely in your device's system settings for the App.

6.3 Deleting Your Data

Because your data lives on your device, you are always in control: delete individual cats, boxes, and notes inside the App, or delete the App to remove everything at once.

7. The One-Time Unlock

7.1 A Single Purchase, No Subscription

CatLitter is free to use, with a genuinely useful free tier (one cat and one box, the daily and full-change reminders, one-tap scoop, the freshness ring, streaks, per-cat photos, and home-screen widgets, all with zero ads). For households with more than one cat, CatLitter offers a single one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited cats and boxes, gentle health notes and a vet-visit log, and your full care history.

7.2 How Billing Works

• The store handles payment. Your purchase is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Believe PR never sees or stores your card or payment details.
• RevenueCat confirms your unlock. We use RevenueCat to check whether your one-time unlock is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-user identifier and the receipt the store provides; it does not receive your name, email, or any in-app content.
• No account needed. Your unlock is tied to your store account (Apple ID or Google account) through the store's "Restore Purchases" mechanism, not to a CatLitter account.

8. Notifications & Widgets

8.1 Reminders Are Local Only

CatLitter's daily scoop reminder and full-change reminder are local notifications scheduled by your device. There is no push-notification server, no token tied to an account, and no reminder travels through any Believe PR infrastructure to reach you.

8.2 The Home-Screen Widget

If you add the CatLitter widget to your home screen, it shows today's freshness at a glance. The widget reads a small snapshot stored locally on your device. It makes no network requests of its own and transmits nothing off your device.

9. App Permissions

9.1 Notifications (Optional)

• Purpose: To send your daily scoop reminder and full-change reminder
• When Requested: When you first turn a reminder on
• What We Send: A short, generic reminder scheduled locally by your device. It never contains your cats' names or notes, and nothing leaves your device to deliver it

9.2 Choosing a Cat Photo (Optional, Pick-Only)

• Purpose: To let you give a cat a photo
• When Requested: Only when you tap to add a cat's photo
• Pick-Only: CatLitter uses your device's standard photo picker, which hands the App only the single image you choose. CatLitter does not request permission to your photo library and cannot read, browse, or import your other photos. The image you pick is copied into the App's private storage and is never uploaded

9.3 Permissions CatLitter Does NOT Request

• ✗ Full photo-library access (CatLitter uses the pick-only picker instead)
• ✗ Health, Apple Health, or Health Connect

• ✗ Tracking (App Tracking Transparency is not used, because CatLitter does not track you)

9.4 Managing Permissions

You can manage all permissions in your device's system settings for CatLitter. Revoking the notifications permission turns off reminders; the rest of the App continues to work.

10. Third-Party Services

CatLitter integrates a small number of third-party services. Each receives only what is described below, and none of them receives your cats, photos, notes, or history.

10.1 Firebase Analytics (Google)

• Purpose: Anonymous product-usage measurement (screen views, feature usage)
• What It Receives: Anonymous, scalar usage events. No personally identifiable information, no advertising identifier
• No Tracking: Anonymous, not linked to your identity, and never used for advertising or cross-app tracking (section 6)
• Provider Privacy: Google Privacy Policy

10.2 Firebase Crashlytics (Google)

• Purpose: Crash reports and performance diagnostics for stability
• What It Receives: Crash stack traces and basic device information, not your personal content
• Provider Privacy: Google Privacy Policy

10.3 Firebase Remote Config (Google)

• Purpose: Delivers non-personal configuration flags to the App
• What It Receives: No user content; the App only fetches configuration values
• Provider Privacy: Google Privacy Policy

10.4 RevenueCat (Purchase Management)

• Purpose: Confirms whether your one-time unlock is active, and supports restoring it
• What It Receives: An anonymous app-user identifier and the store receipt; not your name, email, or in-app content
• Provider Privacy: RevenueCat Privacy Policy

10.5 Apple App Store / Google Play

• Purpose: Distribution of the App and processing of the one-time purchase
• What They Receive: Standard download data, and your payment details for the purchase, handled by Apple or Google, not by us
• Provider Privacy: Apple Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy

10.6 No Advertising, No AI

CatLitter does not include Google AdMob, the Facebook SDK, or any advertising, attribution, or ad-network SDK, and it uses no artificial-intelligence service. There are no ads in the App.

11. Your Privacy Rights

11.1 GDPR Rights (European Union / UK)

If you are in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR:

• Right to Access: Request information about data processed about you
• Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
• Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your data
• Right to Restrict or Object: Object to the limited anonymous processing described here
• Right to Withdraw Consent: The analytics that leaves the device is anonymous and not linked to you, so there is no consent-based processing of personal data to withdraw
• Right to Lodge a Complaint: With your local data-protection authority

11.2 CCPA / CPRA Rights (California)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CPRA.

11.3 How to Exercise Your Rights

Because your CatLitter data lives on your own device:

• Access: Your cats, boxes, history, and notes are visible inside the App at any time
• Correction & Erasure: Edit or delete cats, boxes, and notes directly inside the App, or delete the App to remove all local data
• Analytics: The usage analytics that leaves the device is anonymous and not linked to you, and it is never sold or shared
• Other Requests: Email catlitter@armandojimenez.dev

We will respond to formal rights requests within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally within 30 days).

12. Children's Privacy

CatLitter is a general-audience utility (rated 4+ on the App Store and Everyone on Google Play). It is not directed to children, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App collects no personal information from anyone: the only data that leaves the device is anonymous usage and crash diagnostics not linked to any identity. If you believe a child has provided information in a way that concerns you, please contact us and we will help.

13. International Users

13.1 Where Data Lives

Your personal CatLitter data lives on your device. The limited anonymous data that does leave the device (analytics, crash diagnostics, configuration fetches, and purchase verification) is processed by Google, RevenueCat, and the app stores on their global infrastructure. Believe PR operates from Carolina, in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico (United States).

13.2 International Transfers

If you are located outside the United States, this anonymous data may be processed in the United States or other countries where these providers operate, under their own safeguards.

13.3 Regional Compliance

• European Union / UK: GDPR and UK GDPR
• California: CCPA and CPRA
• Brazil: LGPD
• Other Regions: We respect all applicable privacy laws

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect new features, legal requirements, or third-party changes. When we make material changes:

• The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will change
• We will surface a notice inside the App where appropriate
• Your continued use of CatLitter after the change becomes effective constitutes acceptance
